On July 20th, 2013, a team of four riders from Boulder will take to the road on a bike tour to raise money and awareness along the way for the Davis Phinney Foundation. The Friends for Phinney Coast to Coast team will begin in Oceanside, CA, and end up in New York City.
Davis is a friend of riders Kevin Cartin, Kathleen Donohue, Rick Baker, and Tom Casey. Kevin, Rick and Tom attended Boulder High School together. Kathleen joined the group when she married Kevin. We watched as Davis became a professional bicyclist whose career saw him in the Coors Classic, the Tour de France, and the Olympics, to name a very few. His accomplishments are endless. Davis has more wins than any other American cyclist, still! Davis’ story is incredible. He now lives each day with Parkinson’s Disease. In his always positive way, Davis says he likes to help people with Parkinson’s to “live well today.”
We all are passionate about his foundation and how we can support the way they educate and support those living with Parkinson’s Disease.
